Welcome your patients to the allergen-free sleep zone
99.5% clean air while sleeping enables your patient’s airways to rest and recuperate while they sleep.
Help your patients help themselves to a better quality of life. Who is the Air4 right for?
Airsonett Air4 is for use in patients with severe allergic asthma who, in spite of taking asthma medication, still has poorly controlled asthma. Air4 has been shown to be most suitable for patients with the following clinical profile: Poorly controlled (ACT≤18) atopic asthma despite high treatment intensity (GINA 4). Sensitisation to ≥ 1 perennial indoor aeroallergen (including House Dust Mite, domestic pet or fungi) to which they are likely to be exposed to, demonstrated by a positive skin prick test (wheal diameter ≥ 3mm).
Other allergy induced diseases than asthma, such as rhinitis and eczema, can also be triggered by airborne allergens and other particles (irritants). Minimizing airborne irritants from the breathing zone may therefore alleviate symptoms of these diseases. Conventional air purifiers have not demonstrated clinical effect on asthmatics and patients with other allergen induced diseases.
How the Air4 by Airsonett works
Airsonett Air4 is based on the Temperature controlled Laminar Airflow (TLA) technology. The air from the room enters the Air4 and passes a filter that captures allergens and other particles. The filtered air is cooled to slightly below the ambient room temperature and is supplied with a low velocity from the air shower. The slightly cooled air creates a zone of allergen-free air in the breathing zone.
Conventional air purifiers have not demonstrated clinical effect on asthmatics and patients with other allergen induced diseases.
The drastic reduction in night-time allergen and particle exposure in the breathing zone created by Air4 is the main reason for Airsonett’s success in an area where so many other domestic allergen avoidance measures have failed.
Here’s how it works
While at rest in bed, your mouth and nose are in close contact with pillows, mattresses and duvets that can contain large amounts of irritating particles and allergens such as house dust mites and pet dander. During sleep your body causes an upward air flow, concentrating these airborne particles and allergens to the breathing zone.
The Air4 delivers filtered and slightly cooled air that descends towards the breathing zone in a laminar manner. The clean laminar airflow counteracts the allergen-rich body convection flow.
With the Air4 placed next to the bed and used every night at least 99.5% of particles are blocked from your breathing zone all through your sleep. This allows your airways and the immune system to rest and recuperate overnight.

“Airsonett reduces airway inflammation and thereby relieves symptoms, without the need for drugs or burdensome changes to the home environment.”
What types of particles does the filter get rid of?
Studies show that Airsonett reduces all particles (both ≥0.5μm and <0.1μm) in the breathing zone by more than 1,000 times compared with no intervention.
Can Airsonett have an effect on eczema and in that case how can that be when the clean air only reach the breathing zone / face?
Other allergy induced diseases than asthma, such as rhinitis and eczema, can also be triggered by airborne allergens and other particles (irritants). Minimizing airborne irritants from the breathing zone may therefore alleviate symptoms of these diseases.
For how long should a patient be treated?
Airsonett should be used continuously every night.
How can it have an effect during daytime when it is only used during night time?
Nocturnal exposures have a significant impact on inflammation and symptoms in asthma. This may be a consequence of circadian changes in autonomic function, steroid hormones and immune responsiveness. Studies have shown that daytime symptoms and activities are significantly improved from nocturnal Airsonett use.
Is the Airsonett Air4 certified as medical electrical equipment?
We manufacture to the highest EU regulations ISO 60601-1. Airsonett has been tested and found to be in conformity with regulation IEC/EN 60601-1 for Medical electrical equipment. Airsonett has full product liability insurance for the device.
